I was totally inspired by the Ciate Caviar nails to do this. Not quite the same (not at all in fact) but that's where I got inspired to put random things on my nails.
This is super easy to do and you only need a few things:
- Base coat
- Nail polish colour of your choice (I have here Essie Mint Candy Apple and Sally Hansen's Lights on broadway)
- Top coat (I used Seche vite because it dries the tastes)
- Loose glitter from the craft (or dollar) store
For those who just want really sparkly nails without any colour, you could skip the coloured nail polish and just go right ahead after applying your base coat.
See the video below for all the details!
- Apply your favourite Base coat to help protect your nails from staining and for the polish to go on smoother
- Apply 2 coats of your chosen colours and set with a fast drying top coat like Seche Vite
- Once your nails are REALLY dry, apply a thin layer of your base coat (or any clear nail polish). This will act as glue for the glitter to adhere onto.
- Sprinkle some glitters freely onto your nail, and tap off any excess.
- Once all 10 fingers are done, apply 2 THICK coats of your top coat to seal it all off!
- When your nails are completely dry (if you're using Seche Vite, it should be within the next 5 mins or less) take a small brush and dip it into some nail polish remove to clean up the edges where your nail polish went over the nail bed. If you're too lazy like myself to do this, just hop into the shower. The hot water with soften the skin and will make it easy for you to just rub/peel off the excess polish on your skin.
- When you're all done and satisfied, make sure you use some kind of oil to moisturize your cuticles.
Done!
Happy Friday everyone!
